Our Mission
The mission of Icahn Charter Schools is to use the Core Knowledge curriculum, developed by E.D. Hirsch, to provide students with a rigorous academic program offered in an extended day/year setting. Students will graduate armed with the skills and knowledge to participate successfully in the most rigorous academic environments, and will have a sense of personal and community responsibility.

Icahn 3 Lottery
Families must fill out and submit a brief application, providing basic information about the student, to each charter school they are interested in attending. Applications must be submitted by April 1, 2022*. Students are admitted according to the number of seats available.
If a charter school receives more applications than it has seats available, then the school is required by law to run a randomized lottery to admit students. All students who submitted an application will automatically be entered in the admissions lottery. Applicants whose names are not drawn in the lottery are placed on a waiting list and may be contacted as seats become available. Click here to read the Icahn Lottery Guidelines. The lottery will be held on April 11th from 11:30-12:30. The lottery will be held in-person and virtually. If you are vaccinated, you may attend the in-person lottery in the gymnasium on April 11th. Here is the zoom link for the lottery session.
Updated Covid Protocols as of March 10, 2022
Dear Parents and Guardians,
I am pleased to confirm that we can ease some COVID-19 protocols at Icahn Charter School 3. This is a huge achievement and a milestone in the battle against COVID-19. Here is what’s changing effective immediately,
March 10, and what will remain the same:
Face Coverings
NEW: Effective March 7, face coverings will become optional, indoors and outdoors, at ALL Icahn school grounds and on school buses, for all K-8 students and staff with a few exceptions. Please note that while wearing a face covering will no longer be required, anyone who chooses to wear a mask may continue to do so.
Social Distancing
NEW: There are no requirements for social distancing in public spaces, including classrooms, cafeterias, and auditoriums, unless the person is returning from isolation. As per NYS guidance, those that are required to still wear face coverings due to returning from isolation should distance when they must remove their mask for eating.
Frontline Health Screening and Temperature Checks
NEW: Will no longer be requirement for the Pelham Campus.
Visitor Policy
NEW: A face covering is now optional for visitors.
REMAINS: All visitors wishing to enter DOE school buildings MUST continue to show proof of having at least one dose of the COVID-19 vaccination, show identification, and complete a health screening form.
Desk Dividers
NEW: Will no longer be required.
Student Vaccine Requirements
REMAINS: High-risk extracurricular activities will still require participants to be fully vaccinated. High-risk sports include football, volleyball, basketball, wrestling, lacrosse (boys), stunt, and rugby. High-risk extra-curricular activities include chorus, musical theater, dance/dance team, band/orchestra, marching band, and cheerleading/step teams/flag team.
Thank you for your continued support.
